Meet the maritime logistics experts who built and facilitate LinerGame

Built and delivered by industry leaders who've shaped global container shipping.

Decades of carrier, consulting, and operational experience power every LinerGame workshop

The LinerGame Story

Co-founders Lars Jensen and Niels Gorm Malý Rytter spent decades leading and improving liner operations, delivering strategic advice and market intelligence to global carriers. Throughout their careers, they witnessed the same patterns: miscommunication and lack of coordination across sales, operations, and terminals in global container transport networks, creating operational friction, delays, extra costs, and lost revenue opportunities. Talented professionals lacked visibility into how their decisions rippled across the entire value chain.

The shipping industry is the backbone of modern international trade, connecting markets and driving the global economy. Yet despite its critical importance, professionals mostly learn through fragmented training that doesn’t reflect the interconnected reality of liner operations.

From the founder’s dedication to maritime logistics excellence came The Liner Shipping Game. A hands-on, team-based simulation using vessel models built from Lego® bricks, containers, port terminals and cargo documents.

The industry needed a better way to learn

PowerPoint presentations and case studies can't capture how container shipping works. Where sales commitments affect vessel capacity, route optimization depends on terminal realities, and operational decisions impact revenue and profitability.

LinerGame participants rotate through roles across the shipping value chain. When a sales representative triggers a container rollover through overbooking, or a terminal planner feels commercial pressures cascade into yard operations, the learning becomes visceral and immediate.

LinerGame breaks down silos to build commercial awareness and equip maritime professionals to manage the industry demands and complexities.

Our History

Niels Gorm Malý Rytter, Lars Jensen, and Nicolas Guilbert later commercialised the simulation through LinerGame and expanded it into a broader portfolio of experiential workshops delivered by an international facilitator network.

Over the years, new partners and facilitators have helped evolve the game and delivery format. In 2025, key facilitators and agents joined as partners, including Charles Moret, Peter Creeden, and Dominic Enthoven, alongside a renewed strategy to scale global, facilitator-led experiential learning for shipping and logistics teams.
